CopperMoon was
launched as JWB Web Site Design and Computer Services in
1999. Guided by the insight and expertise of its founder
and CEO, Jacob Beaton, CopperMoon quickly evolved into western Canada’s first full service Aboriginal communications agency.
Over time we found that our early business model, based on established mainstream agencies, was ineffective for First Nations. We adapted our structure, so we were better prepared to meet the needs of our clients.
In 2005 we moved away from having a centralized office in a central location, and drastically reduced our overhead. Now we have First Nations team members throughout the province. This allows our team members to stay connected to their communities, as well as gives us the ability to provide service to northern and interior communities. Each of our team members has the opportunity to create positive, meaningful relationships with First Nations organizations in their community. We are now committed to community-based “smart growth” that aims to build the business with our communities.
We look forward to meeting the challenges and opportunities of the future, and continuing to make a positive contribution to our global community.
